Bleach OC Character Bio: Kimmi Hatsutori

So, as you can see, that picture is her newest design. It's actually the design for after the timeskip, but hey, I'll get around to posting the rest of that stuff like how she looks for most of the series pretty soon. I swear.

Now, I have to say this before you read her info; I'm really, really, really sorry if her bio and info is bad or mary-sueish. I genuinely tried to make it well rounded and plausible but I'm going to be honest with you guys, I am a fucking terrible writer and even worse at bio's so please don't rip me up too bad. :c

Appearance: Kimmi has long, straight light blue hair and dark navy eyes.  A characteristic lock of hair longer than the rest of her bangs hangs in the middle of her face and she always wears her hair up, out of convenience. Her skin is lightly tanned, however she has three prominent scars across her body that she received in a battle during the winter war. She is of medium height with an athletic build and sharp facial features.

She wears a sleeveless shihakushou as is customary in the 9^th division. Her belt is worn in a way slightly resembling a corset. She also wears green, fingerless gloves reaching up to mid forearm.

 

Personality: On the surface, Kimmi seems to be mostly unconcerned with procedure and duties as she prefers to do field missions rather than busy work, but in reality she cares deeply for her position and responsibilities. She can be quite sarcastic, and has a sharp tongue when she is angry. She’s typically kind and friendly, but tends to dislike members of the 11^th squad without ever speaking to them as she views them as strong but brutal and uncaring.

Missions involving the world of the living tend to be her favorites because unlike most shinigami, Kimmi finds humans to be quite interesting. When the ryoka invaded she disobeyed orders to find and capture them instead deciding to help them. Presently, she is confident and outgoing, but in the past she was unsure and nervous as she felt weak for not having complete control over her shikai and being a low ranked officer despite her childhood friend, Kensei, being a captain.

Zanpakuto: Thunder Warrior (Raimei Senshi 雷鳴戦士)

 

Sealed Form: Dark, dusty blue hilt and scabbard with a round, silver guard. On the guard there is a scalloped pattern around a ring on the outer edge with a small circle on each of the cardinal points.

Release Command: Spark and rage, Raimei Senshi!

Shikai: In its shikai form, Raimei Senshi is two small, staff like rods with a silver chain connecting the two and a slightly curved blade on the end of one of them. It can be used to strike or slash with lightning or lassoed around someone or something to incapacitate or move them.

Bankai: Raimei Senshi becomes a large, spade shaped blade attached to a long staff. From the end of the staff is a silver chain that connects the blade to a large pendulum used as a weight to keep a captured foe from moving so the user can issue a finishing blow. When in bankai, a black, rubber like garment manifests on Kimmi which covers her hands, arms, torso, throat, and extends down her hips as well as a pair of rubber boots that stop just under her knees. These garments are to protect her from the lightning which can also be manifested from raw electricity as well as reitsu.

Currently, Kimmi can activate bankai, but it is not entirely stable.

 

~Raimei Senshi’s inner world is an expansive plain covered in dark colored rocky outcroppings. There is a constant lightning storm raging due to the lightning based nature of the Zanpakuto. Her reitsu is a bright, blueish white, like lightning. When manifested the way it feels can range from feeling slightly prickly to your entire body feeling charged and highly disoriented.

 

~The manifested spirit of Kimmi’s Zanpakuto resembles a Valkyrie in a way. Her hair is very wavy, blonde, and very long. She wears silver and gold armor as well as an over-skirt the color of the physical Zanpakuto’s hilt and scabbard.  She is tall, around 6’0”, as well as physically sturdy and tough. fav.me/d6vextr

 

Zanpakuto's Personality: Raimei Senshi pretends to be calm and cool, but like her lightning nature she is loud, unpredictable and flashy. She gets along well with Kimmi now, but in the past was very bull headed and resentful that she had what she thought was an incapable wielder.

 

Special Ability: Raimei Senshi is a lightning type Zanpakuto with the special ability to draw raw electricity from the air and sky if the need arises, giving itself and its wielder a seemingly endless amount of energy with which to attack. This ability is only usable in bankai however.

 

Sealed Form attacks: Aside from normal sword based attacks, in its sealed form Kimmi can use her Zanpakuto to create small sized slashes of lightning that do light to medium damage depending on the opponent.

 

Shikai attacks: In its shikai state, Kimmi can use her Zanpakuto to capture an enemy by effectively lassoing them in the chain of her weapon. The chain can extend as long as it needs to and will retract back to its normal length. She can charge the blade for a more powerful version of the lightning slash she uses in its sealed state as well as use the charge for a blast of lightning created by pointing the tip of the blade and firing; it looks similar to a bala.

Fighting style:

- Naginatajutsu (長刀術 or 薙刀術?) is the Japanese martial art of wielding the naginata (なぎなた?). This is a weapon resembling the medieval European glaive. Most naginatajutsu practiced today is in a modernized form, a gendai budō, in which competitions also are held.

~To a lesser extent, Kimmi is proficient in this technique because of her bankai.

- Zanjutsu: Kimmi is an expert swordsman, as expected of a higher ranking officer as well as someone able to use shikai and bankai.

- Kido: She is proficient in Kido, but not a master.

- Enhanced Endurance: Kimmi is highly resilient, as exhibited in the winter war when she was struck and deeply wounded across her face and body, thrown into a building and managed to stand back up.

- Enhanced Strength: Because of her swords ability to fling people and things around, Kimmi has notable physical strength.

- High Spiritual Energy: This level of spiritual power corresponds to those possessing an above average amount of spiritual power, which is finely controlled. This level of spiritual power is common among those of an average lieutenant rank and high ranked seated officers. (Lieutenant-class)

- Shunpo Expert: Experts of the technique are considerably fast, and can maintain high speed movements for extended periods of time. While not as fast as a master, they can keep up quite effectively. Some holding the title are faster than others, but, nonetheless, their application of the technique is highly advanced.

 

Random Facts:

 

- Kimmi is not a lightweight when it comes to drinking. She can go toe to toe with the best of them, including Matsumoto.

 

- She likes Americana swing music, such as music from the 50’s and 60’s, and has a record player to play the records she buys when in the world of the living.

 

- Kimmi sometimes tells Shuuhei stories about Kensei, since she’s known him since they were children and he looks up to him so much.

- Childhood: Kimmi grew up in the districts closest to the walls of the Seireitei. She’s a rare case as she is related to her family by blood instead of being adopted. This is because her parents were shinigami, however her mother had to leave when she became pregnant with Kimmis older brother Souta. She decide to set up home outside of the Seireitei, and shortly after their father also left the court guard squads and joined their mother.

Her childhood friend was Kensei Muguruma, whom she also attended the academy with. In the academy she was only an average student, feeling overshadowed by Kenseis success in the advanced class. It was not until she was nearly graduated that she learned the name of her Zanpakuto and even still, she was not able to fully control her shikai until well after she was a low ranked seated officer in the 13th squad.

- 13th squad: Upon graduating from the academy, she was invited to join the 13th squad as an unseated officer. Fortunately, she did not remain unseated for long. Despite not having complete control of her shikai, she was promoted to 10th seat eventually rising to 7th seat.

For some time she remained in her position in the 13th squad despite being asked several times to join the 9th squad by Kensei, who had quickly risen through the ranks to the position of captain. Even though Kensei was her closest friend since childhood, she refused, feeling she was unsuited to the 9th and its ways. Around 75 years before the events of the Turn Back the Pendulum arc, she began a romantic relationship with Kensei, which made her begin to reconsider her choice of not joining the 9th.

- 9th squad: After the events of the TBtP arc, Kimmi felt intense guilt for not having transferred squads while Kensei was still there, believing he had died during that mission based on what she had been told by Kaname. Shortly after, she made the transfer and was given the rank of 5th seat.

Despite not knowing the truth of what happened that night, Kimmi remained suspicious of Kaname from that point on being that he was supposedly the only survivor of that attack despite their being 5 other officers there, 4 of whom were higher ranked than him and all of them were supposed to have died.

Around 50 years after her transfer, she had risen to 3rd seat. Not long after, she began training in secret to learn bankai. Despite having nearly 45 years to learn and train, by the time of the winter war it is still slightly unstable. By the time of the Quincy invasion of the Seireitei however, she has mastered her bankai with the help of Kensei who was surprised she had managed to achieve it, seeing as she was barely able to control her shikai last time he had seen her.

She grew close to Shuuhei upon his joining the squad, treating him like a younger brother especially after seeing the tattoo on his cheek, knowing exactly who he had gotten it from. She was conflicted on whether to tell him she knew who it came from, until he asked her himself how long she had been in the 9^th squad and whether she had known the previous captain. She told she did know him, and that she had known him well before either of them had become shinigami.

By the time of the Ryoka invasion Kimmi had been to the World of the Living many, many times over the years, not knowing that’s where the group who had supposedly died 100 years ago was living. Because of her many trips there, she enjoys the human world quite a bit, especially the music. Due to her fascination of the human world and her long held distrust of Kaname, she disobeyed her orders to find and capture the Ryoka and instead helped them in their efforts to get to Rukia.

She was not surprised to find out the truth of what happened 100 years ago after Kaname defected with Aizen and Gin.  She had always been suspicious of him after that night, but did not share her thoughts with anyone until well after the fact as she saw how deeply it had upset Shuuhei that Kaname would do something like betray Soul Society.

Kimmi was not a part of any of the arrancar battles leading up to the winter war, however she did make trips to the world of the living during this time period to see Urahara whom she had not known was living their until she heard it from Rukia. She pestered him about whether the rest of them had lived and if they had where they were but he refused to tell her, believing that it would be too dangerous for her to see them as they had a deep resentment hatred for soul reapers.

During the war, she assisted Shuuhei in his fight against Findor Calius. She injured in this battle when Findor used resureccion, which resulted in her three scars. Despite bleeding profusely and having been thrown into a building, she managed to stand and take Shuuhei to safety after he was brutally attacked by Ayon. Seeing how grievously injured Momo, Rangiku, and Shuuhei were, she refused any treatment until they were at least in a stable condition and not on the verge of dying.  

Having been told and believed for 100 years that the Vizards were dead, Kimmi was dumbfounded when they appeared. Despite wanting to see them all again, she stayed by Shuuheis side to make sure he would be alright. Once she was assured he would survive until the 4th squad could arrive she raced over to where Kensei and Mashiro had been fighting, having watched the fight and seen her get beaten so severely.

Despite not normally an overly emotional person, Kimmi could not help but cry at seeing her former comrades again, having believed them all to have been long dead up until a few months before and even still had not expected to see them again.

It was not until after Ichigo and Aizen left the Fake Karakura town and the 4th squad was able to enter and begin healing the injured that Kimmi finally spoke to Kensei. Despite her face being bandaged, Kimmi could not help but cry again, which prompted Kensei to call her a baby even though he was also happy to see her again as well. She slapped him on the chest for the comment before jumping up to hug him, at which point he reprimanded her for being s reckless despite being severely injured.

After the time skip she is revealed to have let her hair grow long again as well as modifying her uniform with a wider belt and new, longer gloves.

During the blood war, she and Mashiro team up while Kensei goes to defend Shuuhei.
